Earlybird Roundup: Scotland Arrests, White House Subpoenas
Terrorism. Seven men have been arrested in Scotland in connection to Saturday's attempted car bombing at a Glasgow airport. The U.K. raised its terror alert to the highest level in response, and U.S. airports are taking additional security measures.
Congress. Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., threatened Sunday to take the fight over White House subpoenas to court, charging officials with criminal contempt of Congress if they don't turn over documents on the U.S. attorney firings.
Iraq. U.S. officials claim that a Hezbollah operative, captured in Basra in March, helped plan a January attack that killed five Americans.
World. President Bush spoke with the president of South Korea yesterday, calling for the "quick return" of U.N. nuclear inspectors to formalize the closing of North Korea's nuclear program.
