Congress. Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla., is blocking a new firearms law that would enforce mental health standards on potential gun buyers.
Iraq. British Prime Minister Gordon Brown is expected to propose even deeper troop cuts than the 1,000 he announced earlier this week, bringing the total number of U.K. troops in Iraq down to 4,500 by the end of the year.
