McCain Wins Coveted Rambo Endorsement

Where will Seagal cast his lot?

Haha, we kid. About the "coveted" part, anyway. But seriously, Sylvester Stallone really has endorsed Arizona Sen. John McCain for president.

"I like McCain a lot. A lot," Sly told Fox News. "And you know, things may change along the way, but there's something about matching the character with the script. And right now, the script that's being written and reality is pretty brutal and pretty hard-edged like a rough action film, and you need somebody who's been in that to deal with it."

"Look at that, you got the endorsement of Sylvester Stallone. Congratulations!" host Brian Kilmeade told McCain after playing him the clip of the "Rocky" star's interview.

"Duhn-DAAAHN!" McCain laughed, raising his fists in the air. "I'm going to Philadelphia and running up the steps!" (Watch the segment here.)

That makes one major action star in McCain's camp, and another (Walker, Texas Ranger) in Mike Huckabee's camp. Rudy Giuliani's got Jon Voight, who's not exactly an action star, though he did help massacre a lot of non-Mormons in the controversial film "September Dawn." (Hmmm.... coincidence?)

Pity Mitt Romney. Not only does no one in the Republican nomination race care for him at all, but he hasn't received an endorsement from so much as an American Gladiator. Perhaps the nod of the Osmonds will provide some comfort? If not, we hear Steven Seagal's vote is still up for grabs.

The GOP candidates debate tonight in Florida. Watch it on MSNBC.com and check On Call for liveblog coverage. We'll have postgame analysis tomorrow.
